Sustainability
At Woodlupine Primary School we recognise the global significance of living a more sustainable lifestyle. Students are provided with many opportunities to learn about and engage in sustainable activities to develop their awareness of this important global issue.
Our partnership with the Threatened Flora Seed Centre will enable our students to participate in an authentic long-term sustainability project with WA Government scientists – protecting WA’s biodiversity.
The Harmony Creek project will allow children to explore water-wise sustainability in the context of learning about aboriginal culture.
As a Waste Wise school we encourage parents to reduce the quantity of the following items in your child's morning tea and lunch box; plastic wrap, zip lock bags, chip and biscuit packets, paper, cardboard, tetra packs and other items that contribute to excessive landfill. Woodlupine PS is a long term member of the East Metropolitan Regional Councils School Battery Collection Program. We encourage our parents and carers to send used batteries in to their child’s classroom. They will be collected for us and recycled, preventing toxic materials from batteries from going into landfill. We also offer a can collection facility in our Visitor Car Park on Solandra Way.
