Woodlupine Primary School is a proud member of the Darling Range Learning Community (DRLC), an alliance of 7 local Public Schools who work together in partnership to deliver great opportunities for our students, staff and schools.
The Darling Range Learning Community comprises Darling Range Sports College as well as Dawson Park, Edney, Forrestfield, High Wycombe, Wattle Grove and Woodlupine Primary Schools.
The vision of the DRLC is as a dynamic learning community of schools reflecting education excellence, collaboration and enriched opportunities that lead to quality outcomes for a new generation.
The children at Woodlupine Primary School benefit from the following projects and initiatives, as well as the significant professional learning, resources and knowledge sharing between the staff and leadership of each of the seven schools.
Interschool Sports Opportunities and Competitions
- Senior Basketball Challenge – Term 1
- Year 5-6 Summer Carnival (Cricket, Volleyball, TBall) – Term 1
- Year 5-6 Winter Carnival (AFL, Netball, Soccer) – Term 2
- Primary Interschool Athletics Carnival – Term 3
The participation of schools, competitors, officials and spectators in all DRLC sporting events is covered by the DRLC Code of Conduct.
Academic Enrichment and Extension
Selected Year 5 and Year 6 students are invited to participate in the Primary Academic Challenge and Enrichment (PACES) program, where children attend Darling Range Sports College for one session each week to develop higher-order thinking skills, with specialised support and extension teachers and challenges.
Peter Noack Citizinship Award
The DRLC fosters active citizenship through a targeted development program for Year 6 students. Each Year 6 student is challenged to identify a change that they can make in their family, school, or wider community. They then set a goal, work towards implementing their project, and present their completed work late in Term Three. The top three children from each school are awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold Medallions, as well as being selected to present their project to an interview panel, from which three overall winners from the DRLC schools are awarded plaques and prizes.
